JUMAU-ITA University is guided by a strong academic and administrative structure, managed by a dedicated team of core staff and faculty members under the leadership of the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, who serves as the Chairperson of the Executive Council. The University’s strategic development is anchored in its mission to strengthen its position in the higher education landscape of Togo and the wider West African region. The Strategic Plan of JUMAU-ITA was crafted with the intention of contributing meaningfully to the advancement of human capital, both locally and globally. This strategic vision was developed through extensive consultation with key stakeholders in higher education, government, industry, and the community. The process reflects our commitment to inclusive and responsive governance, ensuring that academic planning remains aligned with evolving societal needs. In the 21st century, the pillars of social and economic development rest on a well-educated and skilled population. As such, the people of Togo require strong, independent, and forward-thinking universities that offer research-driven education, promote innovation, and provide inclusive learning environments. JUMAU-ITA University stands at the forefront of this transformation, preparing future leaders and professionals to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
These developments impact on, and require adaptation in, society and from labour markets everywhere. Universities are key actors in this process. Open and distance learning in Zambia has experienced some modernization in the past decade and Supershine University is committed to being part of the development in Zambia. The Zambian population is set for open and distance education, and various reforms in education have been made by the government to develop the higher education and research areas to this effect. Currently the Zambian society is missing out on a huge pool of readily available human resources, and comparing the higher education participation rates in Zambia with the rest of the world gives a signal for calls of action. This requires developing more inclusive and responsive Universities to adapt to the dynamic global market of educational services.
